Like its predecessors, Windows 10 also ships with a bunch of mouse points. While there is nothing wrong with the default black and white cursor, the cursor has not seen a major update for years. Because of this, many users are bored of the default cursor and want to replace the default one with a cool cursor.

Using multiple monitors. Most commonly, when you use multiple monitors, they are arranged improperly. So, when the mouse cursor disappears on Mac, it may simply be on another monitor and you do not see it.

App features. Sometimes, Mac cursor disappears because apps hide it. For example, if you use a streaming app, lost mouse cursor is designed for your convenience, not annoyance, because it makes the watching experience more enjoyable, especially when you enter the full screen mode.

When your mouse cursor disappears on Mac, it's time first to check the basics. Are you sure that Mac cursor disappeared? First, shake mouse pointer to locate the cursor. It is a good place to start because you may have simply lost it from view. Do mouse keys work? Try clicking a few times. If it's not the case, move on to the next tips.

Software conflicts explain 90% of Mac problems, even such as missing cursor. These problems may be caused by apps you have used in the past: any app creates cache files that stay in the system. So, if you want to refresh your Mac experience, try cleaning your Mac of junk, including broken and hidden files.

Reassign any button on your mouse to perform virtually any task. For advanced devices, you can adjust the scroll wheel, cursor speed, and much moreMouse button customization available on Windows and macOS, F-key customization available on Windows only.. Enhanced key functions let you set Logitech keyboards to behave just the way you like.

A disappearing cursor or mouse pointer can be a frustrating time-waster. The good news is that while there are several reasons why you might not be able to find your cursor, there are also easy ways to bring it back.

Hot Corners trigger some type of action when you place your Mac's cursor at any of the corners of your screen. To make sure they're not making your mouse pointer disappear, place it on each corner, one at a time. If nothing happens, they aren't the culprit.

4. Select the Pointer tab and use the Pointer size slider to make your cursor bigger. The farther to the right it is, the bigger it'll be.

Making the on-screen cursor bigger than the default size can be really helpful to users with visual impairments, but it can also make things more fun if a child is using a computer for the first time. The following steps show you how it's done.

Note that there's also a checkbox option in the same pane called Shake mouse pointer to locate, which causes the cursor to grow bigger for a short while when you shake it from side to side on the screen, making it easier to see where it is. If you wish, you can also customize the pointer by using the color swatches to further change its appearance.

If there were no mouse cursor, the computer would not have become as popular and usable as these are today. Human beings are best at learning things that they see. So, operating computers using the input of functions and commands via keyboards would not be as popular as computers with interactive graphical user interfaces (GUI).

The computer mouse was reportedly developed around 1963 by Xerox engineer Douglas Englebart. The initial cursor design was originally a tiny arrow pointing up. It was considered a digital figure that helps users make their way through computers.

In the beginning, the mouse cursor was known as a pointer. It was just a tiny, titled, black arrow wandering around on computer screens. At that time, computer displays would be low resolution. It made it difficult to have a tiny vertical line on a screen. But modern mouses are different, boasting a high level of usability.

Finally, Microsoft came into the picture with a big difference. On May 15, 1998, Microsoft released its take on the computer mouse cursor. The tech giant inverted the colors of the system the Macintosh's Apple System debuted earlier. The new cursor design features a black outline and a white interior. In addition, the new Microsoft version of the mouse cursor also featured the tail that was one pixel longer. This made it even far easier for computer users to see the cursor more clearly and easily.

The question arose after the following image started surfacing all over the internet. The image decries the asymmetrical appearance of the Windows cursor, contrasting with the arrow-straight macOS cursor.

From the discussion above, we can conclude that though there is a slight difference between Windows mouse cursors, it is better. It facilitates very easy and comfortable visibility on human eyes by allowing for optical balancing for human eyes.

If you'd like to change the modifier key for applying multiple cursors to Cmd+Click on macOS and Ctrl+Click on Windows and Linux, you can do so with the editor.multiCursorModifier setting. This lets users coming from other editors such as Sublime Text or Atom continue to use the keyboard modifier they are familiar with.

The Go to Definition and Open Link gestures will also respect this setting and adapt such that they do not conflict. For example, when the setting is ctrlCmd, multiple cursors can be added with Ctrl/Cmd+Click, and opening links or going to definition can be invoked with Alt+Click.

When the Find Widget is opened, it will automatically populate the selected text in the editor into the find input box. If the selection is empty, the word under the cursor will be inserted into the input box instead.

Hello this does not seem to work in Photoshop CC 2014. OSX Yosemite. I have set a few different keystrokes in the pref pane and the cursor is still visible regardless of how I set my cursor prefs within Photoshop. Ami Doing something silly?

BEHAVIOURIf I set it like this the program works correct, also after awaking from a system-sleep, but after the next reboot, Cursorcerer forgets its adequate behaviour, although the settings at com.doomlaser.cursorcerer.plist look correct.

As far as I can tell, the pointing hand cursor originated as a PC cursor in HyperCard as mentioned in Bart's answer, and was adopted for use on the web pretty much right from the beginning as noted by Mark Griffiths:

The open/grabbing hand cursor, though, is much older, and was designed by Susan Kare (who did most of the icons for the original Mac). MacPaint (on the original 1984 Macintosh) used it as the "pan" icon:

It seems that the stylised hand icon was reverted to the original Susan Kare version in OS X all the way until Mac OS X 10.7.3 (when the two cursors were redrawn for Retina displays and brought into line stylistically):

I had a look at the metadata for those cursors in OS X and they don't seem to have any author credit specified (but it does say they were being worked on in Adobe Illustrator CS4 from the 17th of April 2008 at least until the 15th of September, 2011).

Changing the size of the mouse pointer in Mac OS X 10.8 and beyond looks much more pleasant than before because you no longer end up with a giant pixelated cursor, instead you get a nice and smooth high-DPI rendered version that is appropriate for using larger cursors even on the ultra high resolution Retina displays. These newer high resolution versions carry across to almost all cursors in Mac OS X, from the normal mouse pointer to the hand cursors that show up when hovering over links.

3. To apply a cursor pack, right-click the icon row and click Apply. The icon pack would be applied instantly and it would change dynamically based on the context. For example, the beach ball would be replaced with a swirling halo and the cursor with a gradient arrow.

While the icon packs are easy to install, you can take things to the next level and create your own icon pack too. Just go ahead and find a bunch of cursor files on the internet and apply it in Mousecape.

Mousecape is a powerful utility that lets you create a completely customized cursor but only if you put in the time and effort. However, if you use Chrome browser for most of your work then you can change the cursor with an extension too.

These are three ways to change the cursor on Mac. The first method is limited to the newer macOS 12 and only lets you change the color of the pointer. The third method only works within the scope of the Chrome browser but the second method is the most sophisticated. It has the ability to customize the cursor completely. Which is your favorite way to change the cursor? Let me know on Twitter.

I am running Teamviewer 14.1.18533 on my Windows 10 machine and I am remotely accessing an iMac running Teamviewer 13. Connection is fine and I can chat and see the other computer, but my mouse disappears whenever I move it anywhere on the remote desktop. I can see what my customer is doing, opening apps and other things, but I have no control over the remote computer. First time I've experienced this issue. I connect fine to hundreds of other customers and can control their machines. Is there a setting on the remote Teamviewer I should be aware of like "show remote cursor"? Please help. Thank you.
